  The Hebrew spelling of Nero Caesar was NRWN QSR. Gematria was used to represent letters as numbers and NRWN QSR = 666

  Nero Caesar transliterated from Latin gives a gematria number of 616, so a Hebrew spelling gives 666 and a Latin spelling gives 616.

  I've never seen it used to describe Caligula, the 666/616 variant is proof that the number referred to Nero.

  No you haven't. You've provided one piece of secular evidence for 539, and then biblical evidence (based on biblical interpretation) for 607.

  You said there was plenty of secular evidence for 607 and I'm still waiting for an example.

  For example, is there any secular evidence that allows for the fall of Jerusalem to have occurred in 607 BCE?

  You ask for ONE piece of secular evidence to support 607. No problem. The calculation begins with the pivotal date of 539 which is accepted by scholarship to mark the conquest of Babylon. proof of this is established by the Nabonidus Chronicle now located in the British Museum.This clay tablet is a well dated record of the Fall of Babylon which yields the date as October 5 Gregorian or October 11, Julian.

  You've given me one piece of SECULAR evidence for 539, the Nabonidus Chronicle.

  I asked for one piece of secular evidence for 607.

  You would also need other secular sources to get the 539BC date for the fall of Babylon e.g. Diodorus giving Cyrus' last year as Olympiad 62.1 or astronomical text Strm. Kambys. 400.

  Once again please name one piece of secular evidence to support 607.

  i was watching a program on the history channel the other night and it was mentioned that the author of the book of revelation is not known.

  it is thought to be "john" but they said it could have either been john the baptist, the apostle john, or maybe a completely different "john.

  what is the org's view?

  This part fits in with some of my recent research:

  it is necessary to bear in mind that since the days of Pompey Rome was in the eyes of the Jewish apocalyptic writers the fourth beast in the Daniel apocalypse (see Dan. vii. 7), the last "wicked kingdom" whose end is to usher in the Messianic kingdom

  This fourth beast was originally viewed as Greece and so when the end didn't arrive the Jewish apocalyptic writers re-assigned the identity of this beast to Rome. The end didn't happen then either and so the beast has continually been re-assigned identities up until the present day.
